This is a very spare groove with all of the chords derived from the key of C major. There is lots of room for bluesy soloing from A minor pentatonic, but trill-picked diatonic thirds played on strings 1 and 2 are reminiscent of steel drums. The modes of C major are also very effective when played with a jazzy feel.
